Rehabilitation is defined as a set of interventions designed to optimize functioning and reduce disability in individuals with health conditions in interaction with their environment.
It focuses on the belief that if the person with a disability makes an effort and works with rehabilitative services, they can overcome their disability.
What our aim is:
- Preventative rehabilitation – commonly known as prehab, is the practice of performing exercise rehabilitation before an injury has been sustained.
- Restorative rehabilitation – rehabilitative or restorative care focuses on maximizing an optimal level of functioning, enabling clients to regain/retain their independence following the debilitating effects of illness or injury.
- Supportive rehabilitation – increases a person’s self-care ability and mobility using methods such as providing self-help devices and teaching people compensatory strategies or alternative ways of doing things. This may include the provision of assistive equipment or environmental modifications.
- Palliative rehabilitation – palliative rehabilitation is defined as the process of helping individuals with a progressive, often advanced or incurable disease reach their physical, psychological, and social potential consistent with physiological and environmental limitations and life preferences.
